Mozambique is fast emerging as one of the
must-see tourist destinations of southern
Africa.
It has one of the longest coastlines of any
African country, with it’s idyllic beaches, a
wonderful range of snorkelling & diving, and
some amazing islands to discover.
The area’s around the Quirimbas and the
Bazaruto Archipelago’s are particularly well
favoured amongst those who are looking for
something a little bit special for their trip.
For something a bit livelier, try Tofo, with its
long white-sand beaches, dunes, and a real
party atmosphere.
Mozambique was once the stronghold of the
Portuguese presence in East Africa, and you
can take a trip around the former colonial
capital of Ilha de Mocambique. Its slightly
faded glory is still impressive, & the timeless
feel is part of it’s attraction.
The present-day capital, Maputo, is a lively,
cosmopolitan city, with colourful markets, &
even more colourful people. Wide avenues
are lined with bright red flame trees, every
street seems to bounce to cheerful salsa or
reggae music, and a broad smile seems part
of the essential attire whatever time you go.
Come to Mozambique, be surprised, but do it
soon before the secret gets out!
